Overcomer Series

                               
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 1 John 5:4

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world! This is great news if you’re a Christian you have the ability to be an overcomer! If you’re reading this the word "overcomer" sparked your interest. To overcome is to gain the victory, win, conquer, or prevail. Maybe you’ve been overwhelmed and overcome by life’s circumstances. Now you want to know how you can overcome: gain the victory, win, conquer, or prevail over life’s obstacles.

Living a life of defeat is not the ideal dream for anyone. No one inspires to be a defeated and beaten down individual. No one says when I grow up I want to be a loser. No mother desires to be overcome with anxiety or depression or to have a broken marriage. No father wants to deal with a life-threatening illness or deal with  the stress of unemployment. No student desires to be overwhelmed with grades and schoolwork. We all want to be successful conquerors and overcomers. How does a Christian become an overcomer? Well 1 John 5:4b verse makes it clear and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

If you’re a Christian you obviously had enough faith to get saved. But how is your faith  operating on a daily basis? Are you depending on God to overcome your struggles are worldly methods? As growing Christians our faith must cover a wide spectrum of challenges. Our faith must go beyond that of basic salvation faith. Our faith must reach the sickly elements that plague our body. Our faith most reach our neighbor who is in need of God. Our faith must stand when everything around us is falling.

The answer to how to become an overcomer is faith. If you’re a faithless Christian you’re a defeated Christian. If you are walking in doubt you are not an overcomer. The only way to overcome is to believe. Believe beyond feelings, circumstances and outlooks. 1 John 5:5 confirms this: Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? 

If you truly believe Jesus is the Son of God who has all things under his feet. Then you’ve got to believe that he can do any and everything. Don't wait until the problems are drowning you,be one step ahead and put on a life jacket. Stay in the word of God and pray daily. So  in conclusion a  simple word of encouragement to the defeated Christian,no matter what BELIEVE!!!

And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. 1 John 5:14&15
