Reavealing the Truth About Immodesty

“Dressing modestly is my way of telling the world I don't play by your rules - I play by God's rules.” - Unknown

Ladies are you revealing dignity or your body? The wise man Solomon once said “Strength and honour should be found in a woman’s clothing." (Proverbs 31:25a) After recently discussing this subject I wanted to write about it,if you asked yourself the question this moment is my outfit too revealing, what would your answer be? The world tells us as a woman that to be beautiful or have worth we need to show our body, dress like the celebrities, they say display your body parts like assets on a shelf, especially if you're young, they say show & flaunt your body, and you'll get a man, these are all LIES!

Our bodies are not a product displayed on a shelf,we don't get good relationships through selling ourselves,we are not sex machines, men if you’re reading remember that,we are precious and made in the image of God. We have to realize that if we don't have respect for ourselves, no one else will, if we want men to respect us,we must respect ourselves,if we claim to know God yet dress improper we are poor representations of the gospel. Better yet how can we expect to teach our daughters modesty when we haven't grasped the meaning of it ourselves? How can women cry and fight against sex trafficking and the sex industry when they walk around dressed like their a part of it. I once saw an interview of a lady advocate speaking out against sex-trafficking, only to find out after googling that she was an actress who played in many racy films,I don’t think she realized she was a part of the problem not the solution and how hypocritical?

“Modesty isn't about covering up our bodies because their bad, modesty isn't about hiding ourselves... it's about revealing our dignity.” -Jessica Rey
Please forgive me if I sound harsh or judgmental that is not my intention whatsoever. My heart cries out at the state of women in America and around the world. I know a lot of you are already standing for modesty and I congratulate every single one of you, you’re beautiful and rare and making a difference in this world. If you believe it’s okay to dress immodest may I challenge you to reconsider? Realize that God wants you to be his child and to love and respect what he gave you. Also I’m not talking about wardrobe malfunctions or mis-examinations we learn and grow everyday, I’m talking about deliberately, choosing clothes that are revealing, that’s wrong. God called us to be women of dignity, class and lights in this dark world “not” stumbling-blocks. I go in the shopping malls look at some of the selections and think my God what has fashion come to? Are women so cheap? Where is the propriety ?

Does our body mean so little? Why is so much fashion see through, short, tight,or low cut it’s ridiculous, but because Satan makes it alluring and acceptable many women and girls fall into the trap. Think about it the number 1 woman superhero is flying around in underwear or booty shorts whichever and a colorful bra what is this teaching women and little girls? Please join me in fighting against this new wave of immodesty and indecency don’t show the whole world what is private and precious, learn to love and respect yourselves as God does, share the message with other ladies in a loving manner that modesty is always beautiful. In addition, modesty goes beyond our dress to our manner, conduct, and our heart towards God. I conclude with a quote by Leah Darrow “Modesty is more than just a hemline, it is an interior disposition that influences not only our dress, but out thoughts and actions. “

As a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion.” (Proverbs 11:22 )
Dressing modestly isn't looking outdated, it's respecting yourself...and looking killer at the same time! - Clothed In Glory

Suit Up!

Suit Up!

If you were in the military would you carelessly walk onto the battlefield with not an ounce of armor on and expect not to get injured or would you suit up and prepare for the battle ahead? The answer is obvious, but so often as Christians we walk onto the spiritual warfare battlefield unarmed. You don't have on your helmet. You don't have on our breastplate. You don't have our shield. You don't have your sword. You don't have on our shoes of peace. You don't have our loins held up with the truth.  Yet so often we don't understand why we can't have the victory in certain areas of our lives. But the answer is simple. Put on your armor. The bible says be "be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world" (1 Peter 5:8-9). If you don't have on your armor then you cannot resist Satan. Vigilant means watchful. You must be on your guard, ever ready to resist Satan. And you can only successfully resist him in this battle if you have on your armor. 1 Timothy 6:12 says, "Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called..." We are called to be victorious in this fight. Here is an overview of what you should wear everyday in order to resist Satan.

1. Loins girt about with truth: we must have the belt of truth firmly buckled on our waist. In order to know the difference between the lies of Satan is to know the truth of God's word. We must diligently read the scripture and digest it on a daily basis. We cannot fight victoriously if we don't know the truth. We also cannot fight victoriously if we don't believe the truth. We must not only know the truth but believe it and apply to our lives.

2. Breastplate of righteousness: we must choose to walk in the Spirit and not according to the flesh. If we are walking in the flesh then we cannot resist the devil. When we sin on purpose then we give the devil place in our lives. So in order to guard our hearts, we must live righteously and keep our hearts pure.

3. Shoes of peace: We must always stand firmly in the gospel of peace. For Ephesians 6:13 says,"Wherefore take unto you  the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand." We can stand firmly in the gospel of peace no matter what. For Christ is a firm foundation.

4. Shield of Faith: Satan will send fiery darts our way that are swift. So we must have on our shield of faith.

5. Helmet of Salvation: Our salvation in Christ gives us protection in our mind.

6. Sword of the Spirit: When we say the word of God, we combat the lies and temptations of Satan. In order to combat Satan with the word of God, we must know the word. When we know the word, we can replace the he the lies that Satan brings against our mind with the truth of God's word.

7. Prayer: Prayer is a powerful weapon against the enemy. We should be fervent in prayer. If you don't see the answer to your prayer that doesn't mean that God hasn't heard your prayer. Just keep praying and praying and praying until you get the victory. For the "effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 5:16). A good way to pray continually until you get an answer is to make a prayer journal. I have a journal where I write down my prayer requests, and I try to pray about these matters everyday.

8. Vigilance: We need to remain watchful as saints. It's important to become aware of the subtle devices of Satan and resist the devil using your armor. If you're not careful, his darts can slip past your armor if you are being passive and not actively combating his lies with the truth of God's word. When you don't wear your army, you're an easy target and can become weighed down with Satan's lies, and live in defeat.

So be active and put on our armor everyday in this fight. Let's "Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Be Free (A Poem of Freedom)

Be Free

A young woman trapped,
Trapped in a maze of lies,
trapped in a mangled array of selfish goals, ambitions, and dreams,
trapped within the boundaries of time, years, days, minutes,
firmly under the burden of the constant tick tock of the neverending clock
When will she be free?
FREE to follow God's timing?
FREE to let go of her plans?
FREE to give of herself willingly?
FREE to know the blessings of giving rather than receiving
attention, praise, and affirmation?
FREE to see that everything she has is in Christ?
FREE to see that she is complete in Him?
FREE to see that she can obtain affirmation and love in Him?
When will she be free to see that she was made to bring glory to God and Him alone?
Will she be free to see
that it is no more I
but Christ that liveth in me?

Will You Drink the Cup?

Will You Drink the Cup?

If you knew that an important part of walking with Christ was suffering would you walk with Him? If He asked you to willingly drink of the cup of suffering would you drink it? If He lead you into the desert would you go willingly? These are all thought-provoking questions that require great thought and an honest answer. I can say quite plainly that a few years ago that I didn't want to suffer. Oh I knew that I would suffer. I had learned from a young age that as a christian, I would experience suffering but when suffering reared it's wretched head I wanted to run far, far away the older I became. I didn't want to experience suffering, and I definitely didn't want to embrace it like I did in High School, but one day a comment that my sister said changed my averse reaction to suffering. One day she plainly said, we need to stop running and embrace suffering. When she said it, I didn't want to accept it, but I was finally ready in my heart to accept what she said. And it was at that moment that I finally understood what she meant. She meant that instead of running away from God's will (because it is God's will that we suffer) I should turn around and embrace it. A few days later, I added the following prayer to my prayer list and I simply wrote,

Lord please help me to drink the cup of suffering willingly.

I wrote this prayer after I read the following verses in Mark 10:20-23 which says,
"Then came to him the mother of Zebedee's children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him. And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom. But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able. And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.

Initially the mother of Zebedee's children asked Jesus if her sons could have essentially a position of authority much like we sometimes ask God for without really thinking it through. The world stresses the importance of having authority over others or gaining recognition but Jesus doesn't grant the mother of Zebedee's children her wish. Instead he brings her to a more important question when he asks, "Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of..." He asks this because before we can reign with Christ we have to suffer with Him first.  2 Timothy 2:12 states, " If we suffer, we shall also reign with him." Before the sons could reign with Christ they would have to drink of the cup of suffering first. And so must you and I, if we want to reign with Christ. We must embrace the fact that we WILL suffer in this life. We must suffer willingly. For Hebrews 13:13 says Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach. Reproach means "a cause of blame; shame; disgrace." We must bare his reproach meaning we must share in his suffering. So go ahead and go without the camp and share in his suffering when coworkers at work distance themselves from your company, go without the camp when people bring false accusations against you. Go without the camp willingly when people hate you. For John 15:18-20 says, "If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you, if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also."

So now I ask you, will you drink of the cup of suffering willingly?

Elevator Diaries (The Case of the Repeated Encounter)

Elevator Diaries

She ambled swiftly down the hallway, a spray bottle in tow. She hit the button beside the elevator. She waited patiently humming a tune from her heart. She yawned in an effort to wake up although a smile was on her face and in her heart. Before the door opened, a lady walked up and joined her in the hallway. When the doors opened she hit the second floor.
"I'm going to the fourth floor," the anonymous lady said.
She quietly hit the fourth floor.
"It's getting warm already," the anonymous lady said.
"Yes, it's pretty humid out," she said, although the fall season was in full bloom.
When the elevator stopped at the second floor I said, "Have a good day."
"Thanks, you too."

The following day, she headed toward the elevator on her morning routine, a melodious tune on her lips.
Surprisingly, she saw the same lady entering the the elevator.
She smiled politely, "How are you today?"
"I'm doing well, I tried to wear an Island look, but I don't know if it was successful or not."
She smiled widely, nodding her head. The appropriate response eluding her as the elevator stopped at the second floor.
"Have a good day," she said.
"You too."

Hmm, she was beginning to wonder if God's providence was at work. Only time would tell. (To be continued...)

In the Stillness

In the Stillness

~Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy ... milk without money and without price.~ Isaiah 55:1

In the hustle and bustle of today's world sometimes it's hard to be still. From going to school, work, home, church, church social related activities, and everything in between we feel like we are spinning in a neverending world of busyness. But in the stillness, God longs to speak to us through His word. He wants us to take a moment, breathe, and listen.  ~Pause~ What is God trying to say. So here are three ways to pause and hear from God not only during your quiet time, but all throughout the day.

1. Read, Read, Read

In the morning, when you wake up make it a priority to read God's word first. Don't litter your mind with your upcoming schedule for the day or make that important phone call that just can't wait another second. Isn't it important to hear from heaven first? And as you read God's word allow the Holy Spirit to illuminate the verses so that you can understand what you are reading. Oftentimes a scripture will jump out at me and I will take extra time to study that particular scripture which is helpful for me during the day. The Lord will give us our Daily bread if we reach out to Him by digesting His word on a daily basis.

2. Pray, Pray, Pray

In the morning, it can be as simple as telling God thank you. Praising Him for a new day. Then proceeding to pray the Lord's prayer.  Many times we put a huge emphasis on the words we say, but all God wants to do is to commune with us. Don't just say the words from memory in almost a robotic fashion, but think about them. Ponder what you are praying and be thankful to the God of the universe for allowing us to have a relationship with Him. Also ask God to fill you with the Spirit and enable you to live a holy life. Ask for wisdom and grace for the day. Rely on God to live through you and then you will be able to be the hands and feet of Jesus as you rely on Him to live through you each and every day.

3. Meditate
I make it a practice to learn a phrase of scripture each day. So whether I am repeating that scripture in my mind at work or meditating on another scripture that I learned the previous week, I love to meditate on God's word. That way in the midst of life you can pause and meditate even if you're in the midst of chores, or running errands or what have you.

So don't be afraid to jump in and drink of the Living water everyday and find refreshment in Him.

~For I satisfy the weary ones and refresh everyone who languishes.~ Jeremiah 31:25

Universal Beauty Standards

All over the world beauty is perceived differently in Burma it's stacking brass coils around a woman's neck for the illusion of length, in Brazil a nice figure, parts of New Zealand chin tattoos, Thailand lighter skin the list goes on, among them  the most common misconception that it's a woman's shape or that  exposing more skin  =confidence & beauty.

In 2009 an article was released that stated
"Women should wear clothes that bare 40 per cent of their flesh to maximize their chances of attracting men, new scientific research indicates."
Below was a picture of a celebrity couple the lady bearing quite a lot of cleavage. It goes on to say  the study was conducted at a club of all places and states"Women who revealed around 40 per cent of their skin attracted twice as many men as those who covered up." It goes on to say “Show some leg, show some arm, but not any more than that.” Ironically  the couple pictured on  the article later split because of the man's infidelity! So what is that again about showing more skin helps you keep a man, yes showing more skin can attract more men,but in most cases it will not help you keep a man. Men shouldly solely define our beauty nor our wardrobe our faith should.

One of the comments on this article by a guy was this "I don't think women should have to bare that much of their bodies to attract men. It should be their personality that attracts not the skin."

I say thumbs up to that!!!!!

In another article on universal beauty standards it states

"Beauty preferences span borders, cultures, and generations, meaning yes, there really are universal standards of beauty. And while Western women do struggle to be slim, the truth is, women in all cultures eat (or don't) to appeal to "the male gaze." The body size that's idealized in a particular culture appears to correspond to the availability of food. In cultures like ours, where you can't go five miles without passing a 7-Eleven and food is sold by the pallet-load at warehouse grocery stores, thin women are in. In cultures where food is scarce (like in Sahara-adjacent hoods), blubber is beautiful, and women appeal to men by stuffing themselves until they're slim like Jabba the Hut."

The truth is none of these even come close to what true beauty and confidence is. The truth is most bombshells marry and divorce several times throughout their life. How many men have married beautiful women and were still unfaithful? That's because the worlds got it all wrong. Beauty is according to God standard and meant to be used for good. Esther for example beauty helped her become queen and be wise in saving the destruction of all her people.  True beauty starts inside and blossoms without and is modest & discreet.

"Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes.  Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight."(1 Peter 3:3-4)

GoFundMe

Hello all,

The past few months I have been waiting on the Lord concerning missions. When a while back, I felt the Lord impressing on my heart to move forward in missions in the coming year of 2018. I am writing this post because I am excited to share my plans and if you prayerfully consider supporting me financially I will provide a link where you can go to give towards this endeavor. I know that the Lord is leading me to go back to Africa and this is truly a first step of faith towards seeing this vision come to pass. I nervously type this message, a peace in my heart and firmness in my resolve to see God's kingdom come to earth. Will you help me bring God's kingdom to earth as we spread the gospel of Jesus to the world? If so, you can click on the link below to learn more:

The Age of Tolerance

Tolerance in America goes a little something like this we are tolerant of your views as long as they agree and align with ours. If they do not then we have a major issue! Also don't just agree help us change the law if you dare disagree with this you're a hater!

Billy Graham Puts it this way:

"One of the pet words of this age is tolerance. It is a good word, but we have tried to stretch it over too great an area. We have applied it, too often, where it does not belong. The word tolerant means liberal and broad-minded. In one sense, it implies the compromise of one’s convictions, a yielding of ground upon important issues.such as: divorce, the use of alcohol, delinquency, wickedness in high places, immorality, crime and godlessness. We have been sapped of conviction, drained of our beliefs, and we are bereft of our faith."

We live in an age where if you don't infringe on your beliefs to suit others you're a hater. Let me ask you something are you a puppet or an individual? Why do you make the choices that you make or dress and eat the way that you do.? Are those truly your decisions or have you been programmed by advertisements people, and the media that that is what you should do?
If you're a Christian are you living and acting like one? To become comfortable in sin and agree with the world system is to essentially lose your faith.(Revelation 3:14-22)

Adrian Rogers said"It is better to be divided by truth than to be united in error. It is better to speak the truth that hurts, and then heals, than falsehood that comforts, then kills. It is not love, and it is not friendship, if we fail do declare the whole counsel of God. It is better to be hated for telling the truth than to be loved for telling a lie. It's better to stand alone with the truth than to be wrong with a multitude."

Many times standing up for what you believe or changing your way of life will not earn you an award or congrats, but persecution. America doesn't offer the type of persecution where you die or suffer horrible torture, but the subtle and exclusive kind, the look that says more than a million words. The kind where you wake up and you're excluded, you've mysteriously lost your job or have tons of negative comments on your social media or a lack thereof, the kind where your face is plastered on  newspapers with the words BIGOT or HATER or HOMOPHOBE in bold letters for simply stating a bible verse or moral statement.

However if you stand on the truth like a rock unmovable and steadfast this will be your end result.
You will ultimately succeed with truth rather  temporarily succeed with a lie."
As long as we have freedom of speech and religion, as long as the bible is true, as long as Jesus Blood on the cross is real :I declare that no Christian should stand down on what they believe, nor live a lukewarm life, but be unashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ and shine like a beacon in this world with love and truth, not just with your mouth, but with your heart and your lifestyle, because people watch more than they hear.

BE BOLD

1 Corinthians 16:13 Remain alert. Keep standing firm in your faith. Keep on being courageous and strong!

After All These YEars 29

After All These YEars 29

If not for your mercy for your grace
I don't think I could save face
If not for God I could not move forward into another year
If not for God I could not overcome my fear
For all these years you God have stretched out mercy and grace
For all these years you loved me when I couldn't love myself
Within me every morning you gave me breath
So I give honor where honor is due
After all these years Oh God I offer my thanks and gratitude to you

Birthday Blessings!!!!

As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake, with thy likeness."

This verse is very precious to me. It reflects how the psalmist found satisfaction in Him when he woke up. Personally, it shows my complete and utter satisfaction in Him. It shows that I am being molded into the image of His dear Son even as I awake each day. On my 34th birthday, I am completely and utterly grateful for God's tender mercies. I am grateful for his guidance and the fruit of the Spirit that He allows to grow and develop in my life. And I am thankful that each morning I can wake up with the realization that I am satisfied in Christ.

5 Facts About Depression and Overcoming

depression

  1. 1. Sadness for no reason
    2. Long periods of sadness constant feelings of  hopelessness
  2. 3. Little to no motivation
  3. 4.Controlled by emotions, cry a lot.

If you experience any of the above you may be experiencing depression. Having dealt with depression and overcome through the grace of God, I want to give you some things I've learned about depression and how to overcome.

You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever. (Psalm 16:11)
#3 Hidden sin can cause depression,
Solution: Confess to God and repent (turn away from doing it again in the future) eliminating sin in your life moves mountains.

#4 The key to freedom is wanting to be free sometimes we struggle so long in our mental distress that it becomes a comfortable blanket, we're comfortable there, and we say I want to be free, while still being covered in that blanket, but we must get so sick and tired that we want with every part of our being to be free.
Solution: Be honest with yourself, ask for help to want to be free, get determined to be free no matter what.
Jesus saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool. Jesus saith unto him, Rise and walk. Immediately the man was made whole, and walked."—John v. 6-9.

#5 Depression like happiness oftentimes is a daily choice.
Solution:We can choose to push past those feelings get out of bed, face the world, get some sunshine, and Vitamin C which is a natural cure and push into God's purpose, love and abundance and greet the day with a smile.

What Happened?

Have you ever had a broken friendship and wondered how'd that happen? Maybe you felt totally blindsided?Have you ever been rebuffed and wondered what you did wrong? Has life ever ended up in a surprising twist of events? Sometimes there isn't a solid answer to our questions. But the truth is many things that happen are a conclusion of a slow building up of multiple episodes. There may have been signs the whole time that you choose to put aside. There may have been hints that this person or situation was not going well, or they were trying to reject you but you pushed passed it. Don't be quick to ignore signs, don't be in a hurry to start relationships are make them work. Take you time in forming friendships, working on family relations or joining organizations, take your time move slowly. Don't try to force things to work that just maybe aren't meant to be, or may take time. As the clique saying says good things come in time.Be willing to face rejection are your life working out differently than you planned. The same thing can be said for yourself and issues you have or occurrences in your life. The way to avoid blunders in the future is by taking care of issues that need to be resolved right now,not by putting them off. Forgive others easily, forgive yourself. Be willing to change and put the time and effort into a relationship with God where your life can change for the better. Any relationship must be build on love, time and trust. Be willing to take your time with relationships and be willing to face things head on in life, because the outcome will be much more enriching and beneficial.

My Valentine

It's funny when people refer to me as single, I have to reaffirm it because even though I am single physically I'm never alone. To me I haven't been single since the day I gave my life to Christ. So if I had to pick someone special to honor this day, someone who has been there for me through the bad the good and the ugly it would be God. God has been a steady rock,a comforter,an encourager, a supporter, lifesaver, hope builder, if I had a valentine his name would be Jesus, not a worldly sense but in a celestial sense, the sense of a father who has been abounding and steadfast, the sense of a friend whose stuck by my side. In  Jeremiah 31:3b God says to me and every human who will listen Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving kindness have I drawn thee.If you are looking for love remember: My valentine love goes deep he never gave me chocolates or roses he gave his life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 There are many that are married/in a relationship that still have not found the stedfast eternal love that only God can give. You see in Jesus is the beginning, history and foundation of love. You don't know love if you don't know Jesus. If you don't know  Jesus love he is beckoning, he's knocking at your door. Will you let him in? Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.If you know God and he has come into your life he has given you a promise that you will never be alone.(Revelation 3:20)

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he (God) hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.(Hebrews 13:5)

God Forgives Instantly

God Forgives Instantly

As I washed my hands at work the other day God brought to my mind a spiritual truth. Think about this for a moment. When you wash your hands do you think for a moment that they are still unclean? No. You continue about your day. But yet, he reminded me that so often we think that we have to come to God again and again with a sin to allow Him to wash us and cleanse us when he washed us the first time. As Christians when we make a mistake if we ask God to forgive us and repent (turn away) from our sin then we are forgiven the first time. 1 John 1:9 says, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." The word cleanse means to purify; to make clean; to remove filth, to purify from guilt. God makes us a promise in 1 John 1:9. If we do our part and repent then He will not only forgive us but also cleanse us from all unrighteousness. So we need to resist the urge to go back and ask God to forgive us again, again, and again because we don't FEEL like you are cleansed because you ARE cleansed by the precious blood of the Lamb.

"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."
~Isaiah 1:18~

God's Will or your Dream

There are many people today who are claiming God had a hand in their success. When they get an award for a movie full of sex and blaspheming they thank God. I don't mean to be rude, but I don't think God wants your thanks not for your performance anyways. You see many of the things people are claiming to have accomplished came from compromise of God's commandments. When people go out and make their dreams happen they often have to play dirty to get ahead. Many successful business men have had to lie and cheat. Many athletes have had to turn a blind eye. Many actor have had to sell their innocence so to speak to get to the top. If this road traveled to success it is paved by our will not God's will. God 's will is follow him.

For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever. (1 John 2:16-17)

I recently read an article where an actor claimed he got saved and God's hand led him into the movie industry to become a star (while I respect film-making and am an artist myself & his movies don't seem exactly kosher if you know what I mean.)It's strange that so many people are claiming God put them on a path where their led to directly break his commandments.I wonder why now all of a sudden God is contradicting himself maybe he modernized or is going with the flow?????...............or maybe it's time to be honest and admit many r fulfilling their dreams not his. Don't be deceived into thinking fulfilling your dreams will fulfill you, only God can do that.

Teach me to do your will,
for you are my God!
Let your good Spirit lead me
on a level ground! ( Psalm 143:10)

Snow Diaries

Snow Diaries

As she pounded the keys on her keyboard, working on a blog, she heard the wind howling as ice fell in noisy torrents outside. She loved being up in the middle of the night typing away with the rhythmic sound of ice and snow drizzling ever so slightly in the background. This was heavenly.

She looked out at the white pure snowy landscape. Staring up at the sky, she thought, "What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?" She could just feel the icy wind chill her bones and tickle her nose with redness and feel the soft snow greet her rosy cheeks. The snowy landscape created a peaceful hush all about her surroundings.

Impurities - Let God Wash You

Impurities - Let God Wash You

When I get bumps and blackheads on my face I look for natural remedies to clear my skin up such as honey or green tea. When I start to use these home remedies, before my face clears up the remedy actually brings the impurities out first before the skin on my face starts to look clear and radiant. It is the same way with the process of sanctification. When we start to see a problem like selfishness rear it's ugly head in our life then we ask God to take it away, sometimes before anything changes he shows us the root of the problem first and we start to see the impurities in our life that we need to repent of first before we can see God's radiant light begin to shine through in our life. A synonym for impurities is a contaminant. God doesn't want things like unforgiveness, covetousness, and vainglory to contaminate our life. He wants to clean away the impurities so that we can be fit for the Master's use (2 Timothy 2:21). So don't get discouraged when God starts showing you things that you didn't know were in your heart that He wants you to repent of and give to Him because the only way for you to molded into His image is if you allow God to clear away the impurities. John 15:2 says, "Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit." When we bear fruit, God continues to cut off things in our life that allows us to bring forth more fruit.

So stay encouraged, God is molding you into the image of His dear Son. When cleaning away the impurities, it may seem to get worse before it gets better, but it's all a a part of the sanctification process and for the glorious glory of God.  Ephesians 5:26-27 reads, "That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word. That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish." So allow God to wash you and cleanse your from all impurities by His word!

~For whom he did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.~ Romans 8:29

God's Healing Balm (Hope for the Future)

God's Healing Balm:
Hope for the Future

We've all experienced those times when we have gotten a boo boo. Sometimes it's a minor scratch that we can wash and keep on going, but other times it is a massive wound that needs peroxide and a bandage. When we pour the peroxide into the wound it stings at first but eventually it subsides and then that is when the healing process begins. Sometimes when we make a boo boo in our Christian walk and we do something that we later regret or say something that we regret, we have to go back and get it right by apologizing to the person we have offended and ask God to forgive us in humble repentance. Sometimes even after we apologize, Satan tries to bring condemnation and buffet us with our mistake. When we experience this, we have to apply the word of God concerning God's forgiveness. Sometimes we would rather forget about it, rather than face it and apply God's word to the situation. To be honest, it hurts to confront such issues with the word of God because we would soon rather forget it, but in order to dispel the lies of satan about our righteousness we have to confront them with the word. If not you will believe the lies of Satan. Therefore we must apply the word of God such as 2 Corinthians 5:21 which says, "For he hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." And Romans 8:1 which reads, "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." When you ask God to forgive you he cleanses you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9) and he places you back in right standing with Him, so you can stand on His word rather than the lies of Satan. Again you are immediately placed back in right standing with God when you confess and ask God to forgive you and He sees you as righteous. The devil wants you to believe the lie that you are useless and that you are a failure. He wants to hinder you from continuing to move forward in God, but if we cling to God's word, we can have victory and can move forward by God's grace.

Or you may have past hurts that you didn't know were there but need to be given to God. And in the process of getting hurt you may have believed a lie as a result of past hurts. So once you give it to God then you must apply the word of God to dispel the lie that you have been believing such as no one likes me, etc. It may hurt at first because the lie seems so real in your life, but when you keep applying the word of God it acts like a healing balm that bandages up your wounds and allows healing to take place in your heart and mind. And the past hurt will become a distant memory that has no power over you. God wants us to be whole. He doesn't want us to walk around offended or guilt ridden or burdened with lies. He came to heal the brokenhearted and bind up our wounds (Psalms 147:3). So allow Him to heal your wounds. Let go of past hurts. It will only hinder you. No matter how great the wound, God is greater than any hurt or offense that you have ever experienced and He wants to set you free by His mighty power. So allow Him to heal you today.

~The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.~ Luke 4:18
